Trust

It's a beautiful sunny day on my parents' mountain this morning! Ava and I plan on being here until we leave....the date to leave is still up in the air though!

Our time in Greensboro was wonderful...I got to see so many good friends. I went out with the "Teacher Girls" as I call them, saw my old Bible study friends, and even went to Charlotte to see my awesome friend from Meredith College! I am really enjoying this time I am getting to reconnect with and spend quality time with the people I love. I even got to see my cousins at the Dessert Night I had. The night went very well, and I am praying that some partners were born out of the sharing about Hawaii I got to do.

Now we are back in Black Mountain, and it is beautiful! Next week I have a fundraiser planned for Chick-Fil-A that I am really excited about. Please be praying that it goes well for us. Also, if you are in the area, please come out and support us! It is on Hendersonville Rd. in Asheville. June 7th. from 5pm to 8pm. It is really going to be fun! All you have to do is eat there to support us.

Also, coming up on June 15th, my mom and I are planning a house concert for the band "Carolina Story". I am also going to use the night to talk about the school in Hawaii. I'll put more of the details on Facebook about this.

I also want to plan a dessert night down in Wilmington. Right now I am thinking of June 26th....but I don't have anywhere to have it yet, so let me know if you would be interested in hosting or just attending!

So, I have a lot planned for this month! Please, please keep praying for us! We have a long way to get to our financial goal....but speaking of that....this week I received another $100 dollars in monthly support!!! So now we have $200 of our $1200 in monthly support!
God is working for us, and fighting for us!
This is such a time of growth in trusting my Papa. It is so much harder to believe that God is right beside us, when it seems like He isn't doing anything! But He is....we just don't see what He is doing....and HE IS THERE! He is standing right beside us saying..."I'm here! I am right here! Trust me!" I have been reminded of this as I am reading the Old Testiment and the book GREEN by Ted Dekker. In the OT the Isrealites were constantly questioning God's provision for them, and yet God was constantly speaking to Moses "I am here! Why are they doubting me?"
In the book GREEN, (which if you haven't read this series of books you are truly missing out) the people are waiting for Elyon, or God, to show up...and they have forgotten that He is always with them!
I hope that whatever you are praying for today, you remember that your Papa, your Father, your love is standing right beside you!

8 Weeks left??

Hi friends! I hope you are all doing wonderfully! I miss you all so much!
Well, this week Ava and I are in Greensboro. I have been diligently cleaning out my storage unit, as Ava diligently tries to KEEP everything I am trying to get rid of! We are having a huge yard sale this Saturday, and I am just praying that I can get rid of all of my stuff! I feel like I own so much....that I never use...and so then why do I own it? However, I have been feeling nostalgic as I am sorting through Ava's old clothes, toys, and my school supplies. So, I have to keep a few things....and I definitely can't get rid of all my books. The yard sale will mostly be clothes and kitchen items, and toys....stop by if you need...er...want any of that!

Next Tuesday I have also planned a small dessert night, where I will be sharing my Brazil slideshow we made, and giving a little more information about what I will be doing in Hawaii. It will be a really nice chance just to chat with some of you, and to catch up before I leave. I am really looking forward to it...I only hope more of you can come. Right now I only have one RSVP...a very special one....but I want to see ALL of you! If you are in the Boro...please try to make it over. Tuesday, my sister's house, 7 pm...did I mention there will be dessert? ;)

My trust in my Papa has definitely been tested the past couple of weeks....no new monthly supporters. I know that God wants to bless me, and I know that He will get me where I need to be...but right now it doesn't seem like anything is happening...not to my small eyes anyway. So, please pray that I will be able to see with my Papa's eyes, and put my trust in Him.

Recently my contact in Hawaii, at the Learning Center, called me to encourage me about support raising, and see how she could pray for me. She also said that she didn't want me to stress about getting there at a certain date. She wants me to come when I have at least 80% of my monthly support...which will be about $900 a month. Right now I have pledged $100 a month. I have a ways to go...which is the reason for the question marks after the title '8 weeks'. It could be longer if I don't reach 80%...yikes!

Thank you greatly to all of you who have been praying for me...and thank you to all of you who have already supported me financially. I love all of you, and desperately need your encouragement right now!

Love and Blessings,
Brooke

10 Weeks to go!!!!

Hi friends and supporters!
I hope you all had a wonderful week. I am becoming very aware that I won't see some of you for a very long time! It makes me sad, and so I am trying to come visit as many people as I can before we go. If I haven't come to your house, and you want me too...let me know! I'll be there...well if you live within reasonably driving distance that is!
My sister is going up to New York next week, and I am debating about whether to go with her or not.
Yesterday I happened to come across the blog of the first grade teacher who is currently teaching at the Learning Center in Hawaii. I absolutely loved reading about her journey to the school, and reading about what the kids there are like. It encouraged me soooo much!
I also made a super cool event page on Facebook that I hope will get the word out about what we are doing.
AND....I set up a Chick Fil A Spirit night fundraiser for June 7th to raise money! I am super excited about it, and if you live in the Asheville area...PLEASE come out! I'll put the event on Facebook as well.
So I had a busy day yesterday!
As far as my support raising goes, I have $100 a month pledged right now....so just $1100 a month more to go!
I am doing the possible, and I KNOW God can do the impossible!
Love you all!

New Paypal Button!

Thank you to Alan, my wonderful YWAM school leader, for helping me get this button on my blog!
Now it will be easy for my friends and family and YOU to partner with Ava and I in our journey to being on staff in Hawaii. Please be praying and asking God how you can help support us. As of right now we have two monthly supporters! Which we are so grately blessed by. I know God is preparing the hearts of the perfect people to partner with us.
I have been praying more and more about how this school in Hawaii will be able to help shape the future of education on a global scale. I can't tell you how excited I am about the possibilities! It would be so wonderful to have you on board with us so that I could continue to share my heart and vision with you. I love all of you who are reading this, and I am praying that God continues to bless you and to show you how much He loves you!
